International Bachelor of Science in Artificial IntelligenceUniversité PSL · Paris School of AI

Student life and practical information

Students of the bachelor are students of Université PSL, and have access to what the university offers across its campus in the centre of Paris: housing help, health services, sport, libraries, a hundred or so clubs, and a welcome desk for those arriving from abroad.

Where classes take place

Most teaching takes place on two PSL sites in the fifth arrondissement, a few minutes apart, behind the Panthéon and next to the École normale supérieure:

Both are a short walk from the Cardinal Lemoine and Place Monge stations on metro lines 10 and 7, and from Luxembourg on RER B.

The rest of the PSL campus is spread over central Paris: the member schools are within walking distance of each other in the fifth and sixth arrondissements, apart from Dauphine – PSL in the sixteenth.

Registering, once admitted

Administrative registration at Université PSL is done online over the summer, after admission. Admitted students receive the instructions and the deadlines directly from the registrar’s office. Tuition fees are set at this point, from the household’s most recent tax assessment (see tuition fees), so it is worth having it at hand early in the summer. Questions about registration go to enrollment.psai@psl.eu.

What to bring

A laptop is needed for the programming, database and machine learning classes. Any machine running Linux, Windows, or macOS will do, with at least 8 GB of memory; Linux is recommended. What matters is that you have administrator rights on it, since you will install software: Chromebooks, devices locked in Windows S mode, iPads, and Android tablets are not suitable.

Before the year starts, it is worth revisiting advanced secondary school mathematics – limits and continuity, differentiation and integration, elementary probability, complex numbers, polynomial equations, elementary arithmetic. The Math in Practice week in September builds on them.
